Description

This 1-day (6 educational hour) LIVE and IN-PERSON workshop will focus on helping veterinary professionals (vets, vet techs, and veterinary clinic staff) learn to understand and develop a toolkit to support deep self care and improve personal capacity to return to equilibrium (a.k.a. "homeostasis") on a daily basis.

We'll talk about & explore:

  1. practical ways to think about stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue
  2. the subtle but important similarities and differences between burnout and compassion fatigue
  3. the impact unmanaged, unregulated stress can have on your performance in your daily professional practice (and personal and family life)
  4. ways to create a meaningful, practical toolkit to help you self-regulate (i.e. choose and use the best strategies to return to homeostasis)

Through lectures, individual exercises, small group assignments, and large group discussions, we'll explore playful, creative activities to deepen learning and practice relevant skills to build a toolkit you'll be able to put to use immediately in your daily work life.

Attendees are invited to come prepared with an open mind, an open heart, and a willingness to engage in playful activities. While some activities may seem frivolous, you are invited to consider accessing your creative soul to guide your learning and to trust that you will learn deep self-care by doing deep self-care during our time together.
