The Dunne Golf Classic

Jack Dunne was that person who knew when to contribute, provide support and encouragement to others, so they might reach out for more than just the norm.  He was a motivator, mentor and educator to all who had dreams and goals for their future. Those who had a chance to spend time with him in conversation were strongly imprinted by his insight.

These past four years, Jack fought cancer and COPD.  Towards the end, COPD gripped his lungs. 

In 2021, Jack retired his golf clubs.  He continued his love for golf when he and Jaryll, his loving wife, started the Dunne Golf Classic.  2021’s tournament was created to bring family and close friends together with Jack, in a setting of fun and spending time together.

The Dunne Golf Classic of 2022, is being held in partnership with the Alberta Lung Association as a result of seeing the challenges Jack went through with his COPD, near his end. 

1 in 5 Albertans are affected by chronic lung conditions. Chronic Lung conditions are not kind and there is a true need for critical research to find a cure or new treatment for lung diseases like asthma, lung cancer and COPD.

Come help us raise funds for Alberta Lung's Breathing Space.  Breathing Space will be the first facility of its kind in Canada. It will provide a sanctuary for lung transplant patients and their families, giving them much needed “breathing space” in their fight to regain their strength and vitality.

Join us on August 6^th in support of the Alberta Lung Association.
