Description
Four-time Grammy Award-winning choir The Crossing, conducted by Donald Nally, brings us the second of two concerts for their annual Month of Moderns. This second program, Life, liberty, pursuit of happiness: The People Speak from the Birthplace of America (Philadelphia Composers Ask Questions) features a world premiere by Haitian-American performer and composer Nathalie Joachim — a setting of Benjamin Franklin's Thirteen Virtues alongside works from The Crossing's Philadelphia composer friends. The Crossing is joined by friend and longtime collaborator, cellist Thomas Mesa.
The Crossing is a Philadelphia-based professional chamber choir celebrated as the originator of a new canon of American choral music and dedicated to the commissioning and performance of new choral music. Conducted by Donald Nally, the ensemble has won four Grammy Awards and is recognized internationally as one of the most important forces in contemporary choral music.
