FILMS:

The Secondary Highway - The Secondary Highway is a journey of history, memories, and self-discovery. An abandoned house holds many secrets. Robert Scott tracks down the descendants of these dying places and speaks with the elders who share their stories of hardship, joy, and words of wisdom. Watch Trailer

Mudder’s Hands - A dash of youth, a pinch of age, and an unrecorded recipe: Mudder’s Hands is a charming documentary short centered around the tradition of baking Newfoundland raisin bread. Featuring an original score by Virginia Kilbertus and edited by Peabody Award-winning filmmaker Karen Shopsowitz, Mudder’s Hands shines a light on arthritis, and blends laughter and loss with its baking tips. Clint Butler’s sweet directorial debut is not only a tribute to seniors and their resiliency, but also a reminder of the value in calling your mother more often.

Barry the Beekeeper - Barry, a Jamaican-born beekeeper, has been the heart of his local community in Liverpool for over 20 years. Despite the pandemic slowing down the campaign to keep his beloved Caribbean centre open, Barry takes inspiration from his bees and is still reminded that hope and togetherness can be found in all situations. The Past is the Present: At Home with Gunther Schuler - A short documentary portrait that captures Pulitzer Prize winning composer, Gunther Schuller at his home. An intimate visit as he goes about his daily routines while revealing his creative process and love of both Classical music and Jazz that culminated in his creation of Third Stream music.

Miss Alma Thomas: Life in Color - Miss Alma Thomas is the first documentary film that explores Thomas’ incredible life through the lens of curators, art specialists, scholars, and her family, and features award-winning actress Alfre Woodard as the voice of Alma Thomas. Watch Trailer

Added Years – A film that explores an aging man’s love and devotion for his horses, and the joy and optimism they bring him. Watch Trailer

Bloom - Bloom tells the lighthearted comedic tale of Betty, an elderly woman whose rich inner life belies her seemingly conventional appearance. The impromptu discovery of her 60’s hit single and beloved, colorful scarf catapults Betty into a dancing reverie. When her daughter Greta sends a tactless gift, Betty’s rebellious nature comes to the fore in a hilarious act of defiance. Bloom is a celebration of life, age, and dancing to your own tune!
