Synonym Sound presents Soul Supreme LIVE at The Forks as part of Winterruption 2024!

Come in from the cold and warm up with us for a memorable night of soul and R&B music in the newly renovated event space at The Forks. Curated by the team at Synonym Sound and the incomparable Keisha Booker of Soul Supreme, this night will feature a twelve-piece band, DJ sets, and a cash bar. Step into an immersive soundscape and a wash of purple lights to reunite with old friends and make some new ones, under the disco ball!

 

This is an earlier event, ending at 11pm sharp, so we encourage you to come early, enjoy some dinner at The Forks and then carry on to other Winterruption events afterwards!

Soul Supreme is a vibe, an intention, and a labour of love curate by Keisha Booker, a local black female artist and visionary who aims to celebrate black arts and music through R&B with a soulful collection of voices and minds alike. Soul Supreme's weekly events have become a hub for DJs,  musicians, and visual artists to unleash their creative expressions while showcasing their talents. This event is part of Winterruption, an effort by Winnipeg’s best music venues to give you a great reason to leave your house in the dead of winter. Produced by the West End Cultural Centre in partnership with Real Love Winnipeg and venues around town, they are bringing you both ticketed and free concerts at the end of January. NOTES ON ACCESSIBILITY

• Room 201 at The Forks (1 Forks Market Rd.) is located on the second floor of The Forks Market, in the Northern corner, next to dconstruct designs' storefront.
• The Forks is wheelchair accessible: Upon entering The Forks market building, proceed to the nearest elevator. There are two elevators: one beside Tall Grass Prairie and across from Grass Roots and one in the tower atrium behind The Common in the main food hall. On the second floor, from the elevator beside Tall Grass Prairie: make a left upon exiting the elevator and the room is just past the walk bridge beside Coal and Canary. On the second floor, from the tower elevator: go North West to the opposite end of the market.
• The Forks has gender neutral washrooms: Located directly next to the venue, there are gorgeous new accessible, gender neutral washrooms for all to use! While you are in there, enjoy wallpaper by local artists and neon signs featuring lyrics by local francophone musicians. The perfect place to take a selfie while touching up your look for the event!
