Sweethearts of Country Music is a two-hour retrospective showcasing a 100 year history of strong female led and inspired country music.

The band will start with the birth of country music in 1927, and show the evolution of lyrics, melodies, and arrangements powered by strong women — from Patsy Cline to Taylor Swift and beyond.

Sweethearts of Country Music will be performed by the two-time winner of the Cowboys Opener, the Ashley Garrett Band. With the voice of an angel, Ashley Garrett is ideally suited to deliver this performance at the legendary King Eddy on October 17.

King Eddy offers both seats and standing room at our shows. If you purchase a seated ticket, you will have a reserved seat for the show. Tables may be shared with other ticket holders. Established in 1905, the King Edward Hotel was Calgary’s second oldest hotel and the longest operating bar and hotel when it closed in 2004. In 2008, the Eddy was acquired by the National Music Centre (NMC) and in collaboration with the City of Calgary.
