The Qarah (kaw-raw) derives its name from the Hebrew word ‘qarah’ which essentially means ‘right place, right time.’ It also means to encounter or come across something of significance. The Qarah, aka Ramsay Moore, had his start playing acoustic gigs, evolving into a self-recorded EP Hesitate (2012) with lead single ‘Breath of Life’ cracking the top 100 on Canada Active Rock Charts. This radio success led to festival performances and showings in renowned music competitions for that and subsequent releases - including semi-finalist standings in Unsigned Only, and a finalist spot in the International Acoustic Awards, success with music videos, and significant streaming support . After several years away from the music scene, Ramsay is excited to be getting back to performing and is working on new recordings.
Worlds Collide is a duo comprised of Canadian composer and violin/fiddle performer Kitty Karter (Karley Parovsky) from Treaty 4 territory, and Nigerian poet ArchAngel (Eric Gabriel). Through the diversity of their unique artistic backgrounds, the duo fuses elements of string music, African chants, and spoken word, showing how a new world can be formed when two distinct worlds collide. Formed in Saskatchewan in 2024, they are best known for their live performances, with songs like ‘O Ye Man,’ ‘When A Man Is Free,’ and ‘Have You Seen My Queen?’ being audience favourites. They are currently working on their debut studio album.
