SwaggaCats has been making a name for himself in the Calgary music scene for quite a few years now, joining the Sub Chakra roster in 2021. Not only is he a talented DJ, VJ, and producer, but he has also led various projects such as The Yellow Dubmarine, Dumpster Fire Records, and Quiet Hours Silent Disco.

His agile, cat like reflexes allow him to move between genres flawlessly. You may catch him playing an acid infused techno set one weekend, flexing a bass music set the next, and projection mapping the walls at the afters. Known for his lively performance style, if you're not dancing, It's guaranteed that he will be.

Metafloor produces multidimensional soundsystem music, driven by an insatiable creative appetite and a passion for connecting people through low frequencies. As a producer, DJ, promoter, and community builder, his work reflects a strong dedication to the art.

 

In 2011, Metafloor co-founded Sub Chakra to curate intimate bass music experiences. The collective has delivered countless shows in Calgary and beyond and is now venturing into soundsystem development. In 2022, he launched Pull Up, a residency centred on rare, energetic rave music. A proponent for emerging artists, Metafloor regularly performs at festivals such as Shambhala and Bass Coast and mentors and supports upcoming artists. He has collaborated with artists such as Fixate, Doctor Jeep, Moresounds, Joe Nice, and Mat the Alien, and has released on labels such as Artikal Music UK, Internal Sounds, Defrostatica, Aufect Platinum, Vandal, and more.

 

As a producer, Metafloor is driven by a relentless desire to bring new, unconventional sounds to the dance floor. A notable technical mixer and intentional shapeshifter, he creates with deep respect for a myriad of genres. His ability to merge musical ranges creates a distinct, yet unexpected soundscape. Inspired by the dualities of art and life, Metafloor is always evolving and committed to taking the listener on a memorable journey.
