Description
The Louise Bennett-Coverley Heritage Council is in acceleration mode. This year it presents Stylin’ 2025-Fi Wi Roots. Fi Wi Culture. It’s about cultural expressions in fashion, music, comedy and more! The doyens of style, Hope Wade (Hope Wade Designs, NYC), Kimberley & Maisie McNaught (Kulture Klothes, South Florida) and Next Gen designer, Camila Nina- Simone Davis (Bad Gyal Brukins, South Florida) bring spell-binding fashion in fabrics and styles that speak to the island’s cultural heritage.
Woven into this visual treat will be the scintillating music of Eugene Grey and his band, featuring popular vocalist Yeshka. They will take you through the musical landscape of Jamaica. And we’re not done there! We bring you comedy in segments on topical issues with Sophia Nicholson and Ricky Rowe. The Tallawah Mento Band and the Jamaica Folk Revue, fresh from Panafest in Ghana will soothe with popular folk renditions. Come prepared for even more excitement with the Ring Ding Kids. You will also have an opportunity to browse and get special offers from the designers. Popular local personalities, Suzette Speaks, Jody-Ann Grey and the inimitable Sir Rockwell will guide you through the evening.
