Description

For centuries, the idea of planets around other stars existed only in the realm of science fiction. But over the last two decades, astronomers have discovered thousands upon thousands of planets in the night sky. How have they found these planets, and what have we seen on them? And what is left to learn? Join us at the McCallion Planetarium as we discuss how we find these planets, how they're different than our own, and what sorts of wild and wonderful planets exist in our universe. This is a specially adapted show for kids.

Please note that children under 8 can sometimes be frightened when we zoom into planets. The planetarium is not like a TV screen - it's an immersive environment, and the perspective could be unsettling for younger kids who are not yet able to process the information. We obviously want to create a positive environment for kids' learning, and you know them best and what they can handle. If individuals are disruptive you may be asked to leave, and re-admission is not possible. All attendees, including infants in arms, require a ticket due to fire and safety capacity codes.

All ticket sales are final.  Please use our Directions page for information on parking and getting to the planetarium.
