Want to draw your audience's attention, and keep it? Want to feel more grounded and in-your-body on stage? Combining movement and theory exercises, this workshop aims to give students confidence and practical techniques for finding grounded and organic presence on stage. We'll start with a dive into what makes performers engaging, then put it into practice with focused exercises and a simple choreo.

Open to performers of all experiences, genres and abilities! La Dame Derrière is an experienced performer and teacher with over a decade of captivating audiences under her shimmy belt.

ABOUT DAME
Hailing from Vancouver, BC, La Dame Derrière is a potent mix of sensuality, soft curves, and sapphic angst. This fiery femme is an internationally award-winning performer, snatching crowns from coast to coast. They are the current reigning Monarch of the Pacific Northwest Burlesque Festival and Miss Viva Las Vegas, as well as a title holder at three other festivals (and counting). She was voted #8 on the list of Canada's Most Influential Burlesque Figures, 2025 (21st Century Burlesque Magazine).
They are dedicated to uplifting queer art. Dame has spent over a decade on stages big and small, bringing high drama
from her years as an opera singer and camp from her drag days. They have trained in multiple disciplines, including opera, theater, ballroom dance, heels, and burlesque.

An avid community advocate, she loves teaching beginner students, has volunteered her time through work on the
board of the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival (2020-2022), and offers knowledge through Patreon.
