Description

The Vancouver Chinese Instrumental Music Society is pleased to partner with the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden to present an afternoon of music for families and every generation. The concert will feature folk songs and traditional instrumental music from China and Taiwan and new arrangements of popular melodies performed by the Vancouver Chinese Music Ensemble with guest artist, award-winning Canadian folk musician Ginalina.

Beloved songs such as Jasmine flower, Taiwanese Train Song, Moon Represents My Heart and Alishan Girl will be featured in English and Mandarin.

The Vancouver Chinese Music Ensemble has collaborated on various projects with Ginalina since 2020 exploring and sharing musical conversations about Asian Folk Songs. Together, they are excited to present music for all ages to enjoy and find inspiration.

Ginalina’s music and written books have been featured on CBC, CBC Kids, Canadian Geographic, Radio Canada, Cabin Radio, and BC Kids’ Knowledge Network. Her multiple albums, which focus on nature, community, and timeless themes of love and kindness, have received 3 Juno nominations and 2 Western Canadian Music Awards in recent years. https://www.ginalinamusic.com/
