After fifteen years of writing and performing with projects including Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, Moonface, Swan Lake and Frog Eyes, prolific songwriter and musician Spencer Krug has begun releasing and touring music under his own name.

First gaining attention in the mid-2000s as co-leader of Montreal’s Wolf Parade, and soon after as the voice and creative force behind the chaotic Sunset Rubdown, Krug eventually turned to Moonface as an outlet for his more experimental and sporadic solo work.

While he continues to perform with both Wolf Parade and Sunset Rubdown, Krug has also found himself drawn toward something less rock-oriented — something quieter, stranger and more introspective. Returning to his first and favourite instrument, the piano, he has ventured back into a world of pseudo-classical balladeering, poetic lyricism, twisted pop sensibilities and jazz-inspired experimentation.

He now releases solo work through his own label, Pronounced Kroog, and tours a mix of new and older material as Spencer Krug.
