Event Description:

Join the Canadian Malting Barley Technical Centre (CMBTC) and Manitoba Crop Alliance (MCA) for a field day focused on malting barley, from crop production to end-use quality.

Walk through barley plots, hear from experts, and connect with others across the malting and brewing industry. Farmers will get insights on new varieties being tested, agronomy updates and on-farm trial results. Brewers will hear how growing conditions and variety choice impact malt quality and performance.

This event offers practical information for farmers growing or considering malting barley, and valuable context for brewers interested in where their ingredients come from. Speakers will share field-level insights and technical perspectives in a relaxed, outdoor setting.
