Winnipeg-based Sol James is a force to be reckoned with, with a voice to match. Known for her unique blend of roots, blues, and soulful storytelling, Sol’s music is joyful, honest, and deeply human—leaving audiences smiling, dancing, and celebrating the good stuff in life. Since releasing her sophomore EP Fighting in 2019, Sol has remained an in-demand performer, vocalist, and songwriter, appearing at festivals, concerts, and events throughout Manitoba and Western Canada.

But did you know she also swings?   While many know her as Sol James, a number of Winnipeg jazz audiences have known her for years as Heitha Forsyth, the jazz vocalist who cut her teeth on standards, swing, and soulful interpretations long before stepping into the roots and blues spotlight. For this rare and intimate performance, Sol will be dusting off her jazz chops and circling back to her musical roots, revisiting the songs and styles that first shaped her as a singer.
