Description

Winter’s knocking, and it’s time to answer.

Zenith Mountain Guides, SkiUphill and the Sea to Sky Gondola are teaming up to throw down the Squamish preseason kickoff at the Summit Lodge on December 6th. Let’s talk snow, gear up, and get fired up for the season ahead.

The event will take place at the Summit Lodge, starting at 6:00 PM. Participants are invited to arrive early to enjoy a drink from the bar and a limited selection of hot food from the grill. Presentations will begin promptly at 6:30 PM and will wrap up by 8:00 PM, with time to download from the lodge by 8:30 PM. Please note that the hot food service will close at 7:00 PM, so arrive early if you plan to grab a bite.

This isn’t your run-of-the-mill lecture. Mammut is bringing their Barryvox transceiver testing station—by donation—so you can sharpen your avalanche safety skills. Then, Zenith Mountain Guides will hit you with a snowpack deep dive, unpacking current conditions, weather patterns, and avalanche forecasts. You’ll leave feeling dialed in, smarter, safer, and ready to charge into the season.

We’re not stopping there. Sea to Sky Gondola will share updates on grooming, ski touring conditions, weather, etc —because they know what’s up in your backyard. And if all that wasn’t enough, we might cap it off with a short film to keep the vibes high and the inspiration flowing.

Tickets are $15, with all proceeds going to Squamish Search and Rescue, because they’re the real MVPs.

If you’re a passholder, it’s business as usual to upload. Non-passholders? No worries. Grab a special event ticket for $25 at the base station on your way up. Here’s the kicker: keep your ticket and apply that $25 to a season pass during the sale. Boom.

Space is tight—only 100 spots. This will sell out, so don’t sit on it. Get your ticket, show up, and let’s set the tone for an epic winter.
