Description

Sunglaciers

Sunglaciers encapsulates a harmoniously absurd concoction of post-punk ideologies, blended with jagged guitar riffs, eerie vocal delivery and psych-pop sentiment. After a successful year of international touring and numerous festival performances promoting the band’s latest full-length record Subterranea — produced by Chad VanGaalen — Sunglaciers return to the Sled Island stage, flourishing with life and in fighting form.

Rip Room

Rip Room delivers a furious, dizzying brand of art-laden post-punk to Sled Island 2023, a sound which feels at home in Calgary. 2022’s full-length release, Alight and Resound, provides a foundation of merciless percussion, stabbing guitar hooks and shouted vocals to get you out of your seat and into the pit.

Gossamer Blue

Gossamer Blue combines the accessible jangle of ‘80s indie pop, the dreamy distortion of ‘90s shoegaze and the psych leanings of contemporary garage rock. Though the band is indebted to music of the past, it never feels like a relic of a bygone scene, fitting perfectly in the contemporary landscape.

Facecut

Riding a hot rod of crooked guitar riffs and primal percussion, Facecut drives headlong into garage-rock revival country. 2021’s Loft Sounds injects western attitude into fuzz-rock anthems with twang, reverb, and a healthy dose of vocal sleaze. This trio of prairie punks deals in non-stop high fives and compulsive headbanging.
