Description

Ribbon Skirt

Led by Anishinaabe musician Tashiina Buswa, Ribbon Skirt is a four-piece alternative group from Montreal formerly known as Love Language. Their 2025 debut album Bite Down (released on Mint Records) brings a darker and more introspective sound, dealing with themes of memory, grief and Buswa’s connection to her Indigenous identity and cultural practices.

Glockabelle

A genuinely original punk provocateur known to wail a glockenspiel, Glockabelle pushes the boundaries of what art rock can be. Imagine a one-woman typhoon of Casio skronks delivered at clanging volumes, and you’re in the ballpark of what to expect. She’s shredded SXSW, hosts her own festival in New York, LOVEFEST, and has opened for renowned acts including The Raconteurs, Lightning Bolt, Mdou Moctar, The Go! Team, The Space Lady and more.

Pressure Pin

From the deepest recesses of Montreal, Quebec comes a burgeoning art punk act known as Pressure Pin. April 2022 saw the release of their explosively eccentric debut EP Superficial Feature, and the four songs contained within are as strange as they are invigorating, bursting with youthful confidence and frenetic ‘77 punk energy.

Brass Lip

Formed last year with two self-released EPs, Brass Lip’s scrappy, straight-to-the-point pogo energy has already made huge Cowtown waves. From opening for Home Front to igniting Sled Island’s last pig roast, the spirit of ‘80s femme-fronted punk is alive and well in Calgary. It’s the kind of fast, loud, and unpolished attitude that’s been missing from modern punk.
