Description

R.A.P Ferriera

Formerly known as milo, R.A.P. Ferreira is a loquacious rhymer whose verbosity is complemented by jazz-infused productions. Originally from the American Midwest, Ferreira has lived around the country and operates his own label / record shop, RBYT, dedicated to underground rap. A busy bee during the pandemic, he has released three full-lengths since 2020, each receiving critical acclaim for his outside-the-box style and authenticity.

Anthony OKS

Fans of soul, contemporary rap and the Golden Age of hip-hop will appreciate Anthony OKS as a master of lyrical flow who can't be contained to one style. On his 2021 EP In the Garden, OKS moves easily from free and easy pop collaboration “Fortified Bond (feat. Begonia)” to melodic, introspective rap track “Line of Fire,” touching on everything from his family’s ancestral roots in Sierra Leone to his reflections on depression and personal growth.

Lowkita

Vocalist and beatmaker Lowkita channels her Caribbean heritage and influences from across hip-hop and grime for cool, confident tracks that skate between rapping and R&B-style vocals. She is also incredibly versatile in tone — her most recent singles are “Likkle Honey,” a swaggering warcry full of boasts and icy, menacing dancehall, and “Selective,” a warped, near-psychedelic groove with an inspirational overtone.

JAMES NOBLE

Calgary rapper JAMES NOBLE brings inspiration from his Ghanian and North American heritage when creating trunk-rattling tracks. He recently released the singles “Focus” and “Say Something” — both with a knocking low end and timeless, progressive production style — ahead of his forthcoming debut album, God’s Work. Bolstered by gospel samples and percussive beats, Noble’s confidence as an emcee is potent and gripping.
