Description
Obnox
“Too Punk Shakur” returns to Sled Island after four years and three new albums. The hyper-prolific garage savant from the Mistake on the Lake (A.K.A. Cleveland) is easily one of the weirdest and hardest working musicians in the biz. He shreds, raps and cuts together experimental sounds that dominate both the minds and bodies of audiences everywhere he goes.
DRI HIEV
Industrial punk act DRI HIEV has recently added a sax player to the heft and frenzy of their ranks. This new incarnation of the band will be dropping a new LP of presumably haphazard musical chaos just one month out from Sled Island--all the more reason to catch their unpredictable live show during the fest.
CROTCH
CROTCH create the recursive pattern where music eats itself alive. Caught between the ambivalence of drone, the ruthlessness of noise, and the bratty sneer of no-wave, the sounds they make feel like a purge–a burning down of all convention that creates the space to start over on music completely.
Gloin
Recent Exclaim! Class of 2019 alums Gloin are the answer to the question, “What if Toronto’s noise rock scene was more fun?” Consisting of members of Toronto bands like Brenda and Witchrot, this four-piece have blown out pop music to its weirdest and noisiest extremes. It’s about time the rest of the country caught on.
