Haviah Mighty
Polaris Prize and JUNO winner Haviah Mighty returns to Calgary for her first-ever Sled Island performance. A former member of The Sorority, the celebrated rapper last released the single “Honey Bun” following a JUNO win for the 2021 mixtape Stock Exchange. A commanding presence on both record and stage, her set at Dickens will be a celebration of the finest in Canadian hip-hop.
Maassai
Avant-garde rapper Maassai has been gaining positive critical attention for her blend of lo-fi, jazz-inspired beats and introspective lyrics ever since the 2021 release of debut album With the Shifts. On it, she channels underground sounds and challenges listeners to dig in and engage to great success. She is also half of the duo H3IR, alongside electronic producer JWords.
Super Duty Tough Work
“Golden-era taste, current-era based” is the motto of Winnipeg’s Super Duty Tough Work, and a quick listen shows why. A harmonious six-piece band featuring slick beats, groovy bass lines, smooth horns, keys and graceful rhymes, Super Duty Tough Work has been grabbing attention across Canada and beyond for the last several years.
Versvs
Versvs is known in the hip-hop community for his lightning fast flow and razor sharp freestyle skills. On top of having over 10 million views on TikTok, Versvs speaks four languages (and raps in all four), allowing him to connect with fans around the world in more ways than one. His fresh take on rap has gained him opening spots for Big Sean, Tyga, Ludacris and more.
