Description

Big Rig

If you like your groups super, look no further than Jen Clements of The Courtneys’ solo project Big Rig. She’s accompanied by Geoff Reith on banjo, Giles Roy (Woolworm) on bass and Jay Arner on drums for tunes she calls “twangmo” and “boot gaze.” Her self-titled album bridges elements of alt-country with hook-heavy indie.

Barbara

Experimental indie quartet Barbara make their sophomoric appearance at Sled Island this year. After promoting their ecstatic debut last year, Barbara is gearing up for record number two that features the breezy skronk of latest single “Currents.” Expect to hear fresh tracks this June.

Kerkland Jerks

Featuring members of Tough Age and Mango Reinhardt, Kerkland Jerks specialize in noisy, fuzz-flavored pop that overflows from pizza party cups. This crew of jubilant indie-rock jesters promise great value at a great price with frenetic live performances and an upcoming debut album full of big-hearted lo-fi.

WUT

West Coast trio WUT say they make “sweet sounding songs about not-so sweet topics.” You can hear it on the pop-punk/indie-pop bops throughout their 2020 album NOW on tracks like “Hazardous Conditions.” The band’s next move is to release a new full-length at some point this summer.

Hardcore Makeout

Local indie supergroup Hardcore Makeout delivers melodic tunes infused with soulful vibes, crafting love songs that resonate deeply with listeners. With their chic synth-pop melodies, they seamlessly blend passion and rhythm. Get ready for swinging basslines and soul-stirring harmonies that'll catch you in the groove while pondering the power of love.
