Amindi

You can watch visuals and read confessional writeups for each song on Amindi’s stirring debut EP nice via her diaristic website — and you definitely should. Each slice of intimate R&B features her velvet voice against crispy-textured drums and minimal instrumentals. Start with “nwts,” a tribute to Drake, and “slideshow,” whose video sees Amindi rocking different looks while wandering through a series of magazine covers.

KAINA

KAINA creates a timeless kind of pop best described as weightless and sublime. Raised in a Venezuelan-Guatemalan household in Chicago, she grew up with the music of Stevie Wonder, Celia Cruz and Oscar D'León — and it shows. Her croon is classic, powerful but never showy, and always served by arrangements that play with polyrhythm and psych-pop to pristine results.

 

the della kit

Dee “the della kit” Landsberg is a future-sounding vocalist/songwriter/DJ/producer drawing on funk, jazz, neo soul and R&B. A queer performer from an Italian/Jewish jazz lineage, her credits include global streams, appearances at Toronto Jazz Festival and Lightning in a Bottle and support slots for Mos Def and Questlove. Start with the vibe-heavy moonbeams & frequencies from 2022 and find yourself soon under the della kit’s spell.

 

Malaika Hailey

Sweet, velvety vocals, clear melodies and effortless harmonies comprise Malaika Hailey’s music. Paired with laidback beats, her vocals are at home with both synthesizers and subtle acoustic guitars. Malaika’s music is perfect for when you’re going through a breakup, but want to feel good again — it’s a vibe!
