Description

Dragon Fli Empire

Dragon Fli Empire, aka DJ Cosm and Teekay, have been established members of Canada’s hip-hop community for over two decades. Pairing Golden Era flavours with smooth beats and singable lyrics, Dragon Fli Empire gained popularity nationwide in the early 2000s through releases like their seminal hit “Mount Pleasant.”

MELODNA

With a fresh and unique blend of downtempo beats, smooth R&B, a hint of afro-fusion and the flair of hip-hop, MELODNA is on the cusp of breaking out in a major way. Since her 2020 debut single “KRYPTONITE,” the multi-talented artist has found herself thriving, having shared the stage with acclaimed acts like Begonia and Lido Pimienta at last year’s Regina Folk Festival. Next stop, Sled Island.

86LOVE

86LOVE is the answer to what if festivals like Rolling Loud or Hot Summer Jam were happening in Calgary music studios. Skewing trap with a sprinkling of UK grime, his mixtape EVERYDAY is an exercise in maximalism and hedonism, chock full of braggadocio, fatter-than-fuck beats and the occasional foray into AutoTune. He’s living proof that Calgary has a young, hungry rap culture.

Dizzy Walka

Dizzy Walka is a young hip-hop artist whose music possesses the maturity of artists generations older. His messages tackle themes of perseverance, tenacity and determination, inspiring listeners to celebrate every moment. His sound is percussive, featuring sharp 808s and polished, slick lyrics that focus on positivity.
