Six Pak Volleyball Festival

In the spirit of truth and reconciliation, SIX PAK! Volleyball Festival recognizes we compete and play in Mohkinstsis (where the Bow River meets the Elbow River), which is now known as Calgary. We acknowledge our presence on Treaty 7 territory and give thanks to these sacred lands that continue to provide for us. We honour the original occupants of this Territory, being the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) Confederacy, comprised of the Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika Nations; the Iyarhe Nakoda of the Wesley, Chiniki, and Bearspaw Nations; and the Dene of the Tsuut’ina Nation, as well as the Metis Nation Region III. 

 

Join us in celebrating the second annual Six Pak Volleyball Festival on August 27th at the CBVA Beach Volleyball Courts!

Your desires will be filled with beer gardens serving Cold Garden bevies, a DJ stage playing tunes all-day, along with fun games and entertainment! With inter-court access between games, spectators can view any match they please, and can start their own!

This ONE DAY event will feature multiple four-player co-ed divisions for anyone wanting fun in the sun! Whether you are there just for fun or are more competitive, there's a division for you! Each team must have 2 women-identifying and 2 men-identifying players on the court, with 2 additional optional subs. Teams will compete in pool play in the morning to determine seeding for the afternoon playoffs. Once playoffs start, it will be a single knockout where winners take all!

Throughout the day, teams will hangout at the beer garden, dance to the sick beats, check out some live performers, play lawn games, and meet new friends!

Tournament will be tiered based on volleyball experience, teams will play against teams with similar skill levels figured out after registration.

Bring your best beach clothes for the Best Dressed Prize!

And don't forget to celebrate afterward at Cold Garden for the Six Pak After Party: The Volleyball Ball (beach formal)!

It is time to bring the volleyball community back together and to enjoy the sport we all love! Our goal is to provide an inclusive environment to bring back the strength of the volleyball fam that has been built over the years. Let's all get active, socialize, and enjoy some great music! 

 

Adult Coed 4s

Teams must have 2 women-identifying players and 2 men-identifying players on the court at all times but can have up to 6 athletes on their team for subs.

Each team will play two modified pool play matches against two other teams in their pool. 1 v 4 and 2 v 3. The winners will play for the 1st and 2nd seeds, and losers will play for the 3rd and 4th seeds. All teams are guaranteed a playoff match. Only the winning team will win cash prizes, with other fun prizes up for grabs for other teams! After one loss in the playoffs, the team gets to chill in the beer garden, or can compete in a lawn game for fun!

Adult Coed 4s will be capped at 64 teams, first come, first registered.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY.

Completed waivers must be returned prior to attending the SIX & CG event: SIX PACK VOLLEYBALL FESETIVAL: PRESENTED BY COLD GARDEN (the “Event”). 

By signing below, the Participant and/or the Participant’s Guardian understands, acknowledges, and accepts full responsibility for the risks, dangers, and hazards which are inherent to The Event and/or use of the facilities being used for the duration of The Event. These inherent risks include, but are not limited to: the potential for bodily injury or illness (including contraction of COVID-19); close proximity to or contact with others who may have been exposed to or infected with COVID-19 or other communicable illnesses; close proximity to or contact with surfaces, equipment, fixtures, or other objects that may be infected with COVID-19 or other communicable illnesses, despite SIX PAK & CG's efforts; collision with natural or manmade objects; tripping hazards; imperfect venue or field of play conditions; equipment failure; loud- noises; dehydration; exhaustion; lacerations, bone fracture, bone breakage, soft-tissue damage, dislocations, tendon and/or ligament damage, sprains, spinal injuries, head or neck injuries, concussion, hearing damage, ocular damage, damage to teeth or dental work, or other bodily injury, disability (permanent or temporary), paralysis, or death; participants of varying skill levels; the negligent use of the Premises by others; despite SIX PAK & CG's efforts, inadequate safety measures or unsafe Premises; other circumstances known, unknown or beyond the control of SIX PAK & CG, its partners, sponsors, agents, affiliates, directors, employees, officer, therapists, or volunteers (together, the “Releasees”); or negligence or omission of the Releasees (collectively, the “Risks”).

 

In consideration for the access to the Event, coaching and mentorship and/or access or use of the Premises, the Participant and/or the Participant’s Guardian: (a) releases, discharges and forever holds harmless the Releasees from any and all liability for damages or loss arising as a result of the Risks arising from entry into or use of the Premises and of participation in or in connection with the Event, including ensuring the suitability and safety of the Event environment; (b) waive any right to sue the Releasees in respect of all causes of action (including for injuries or illness caused by their own negligence), claims, demands, damages or losses of any kind that may arise as a result of the Risks arising from entry into or use of the Premises and of participation in or in connection with the Event, including without limitation the right to make a third party claim or claim over against the Releasees arising from the same; and (c) freely assumes all risks associated with the Risks, anything incidental to the Risks, which may arise as a result of participation in or in connection with the Event. YOU ARE GIVING UP LEGAL RIGHTS TO ANY AND ALL FUTURE CLAIMS AGAINST SIX PAK & CG AND THE RELEASEES.

 

The participant consents to their picture being taken at the event and for their picture to be used by SIX PAK & CG for promotional or social media purposes.

I confirm that I have read and fully understand this waiver and release of liability. I digitally sign this waiver and release of liability voluntarily without any inducement, assurance, or warranty being made to me.
