The Daniel Pelton Collective is a rotating group of musicians under the direction and performing the music of Daniel Pelton. Pelton’s goal with the group is to create an audience-focused, engaging classical music culture where people of all backgrounds can have a laugh and enjoy some music. The Collective released its debut album, entitled The Gold Coin Sessions, in January of 2022. The album features works for trombone choir, string quartet, saxophone quartet and trio, piano, marimba, and high voice choir. The album received positive local and international press, and has been nominated for a YYC Music Award. The Daniel Pelton Collective has many iterations and engages with the community in any way possible. Their upcoming performance is currently set to premiere Pelton’s works for chamber orchestra at the Calgary Homeless Foundations ‘Sidewalks to Door Locks’ fundraising event on November 23rd, 2022.
