SHARI CHASKIN – VOCALIST

Shari is a Calgary-based vocalist who lives every word she sings. Expect to be captivated by a contemporary and soulful singer whose voice touches all audiences. She has been compared to the power of Adele and Celine and the warmth of Karen Carpenter, however, she has her own unique sound.

Whether in the grandest concert halls and most intimate venues, her presence is captivating. She will take you on a powerful, emotional ride from intimate moments to soaring heights.

As an accomplished performer, Shari has worked with Top 40 bands, jazz ensembles, and big band orchestras including Prime Time Big Band in Calgary for 18 years. She is humbled to have shared stages with Al Jarreau, Chantal Kreviasuk, Céline, Tommy Banks, Oliver Jones and many more.

Shari's star power has connected her with some of the most successful acts in North America.  She honed her talents as an original cast member of the Montreal Bilingual Company and the Canadian National Tour of “Les Misérables”.

Shari and Jon Day wrote and released their first original single “Margate” in 2022 and collaborated on many other projects including the single release of “At War with Love” in 2023. Jon arranged a powerful version of this song by Michael Caruso, American composer. Most recently she released a vintage recording from her collaboration with American songwriter Elliot Willensky on the theme song "Beautiful for You", Shari provided the voice for Hollywood star Farrah Fawcett. Find them streaming on your preferred platform.

“Attending their live concerts is an experience like no other. Shari's enchanting voice possesses the rare power to transport the listener to a world of pure emotion and resonance. Her stage presence is magnetic, and she effortlessly connects with her audience, making every performance a personal and memorable journey. Jon Day's accompaniment is the perfect complement, adding depth and dimension to their musical creations. Together, they create a synergy that is nothing short of magical.”  - L. Selig

Wait until you hear Rob Hutchinson play his acoustic bass if you haven’t already.

An elegant addition to any combo. He has been nothing short of an encouraging and passionate musician and has brought his beautiful sound to Shari’s recording of “At War with Love” …one of his favorite songs of all time.

Rob spent 12 years as a professional musician in London, UK, bringing a unique skill set that includes orchestral and jazz double bass and fretted and fretless electric bass. His West End credits include several mega-hit shows. Now in Calgary, Rob has worked with Stage West and performed with symphony and chamber orchestras across the UK, Spain, and Canada.
