Music Niagara invites you to celebrate Canada Day in style with the sparkling voice of Shannon Butcher, joined by Joyride, the vibrant jazz-crossover band led by Music Niagara’s own Colin Maier.

Acclaimed Canadian vocalist Shannon Butcher brings warmth, wit, and irresistible swing to every performance. A celebrated singer, songwriter, arranger, and producer, she charms audiences with her joyful stage presence and playful approach to jazz. From the sounds of classic Big Band ballrooms to the relaxed vibe of Yorkville folk cafés, Shannon’s music blends timeless jazz traditions with fresh interpretations of beloved songs.

Having toured across Canada and internationally, Shannon has appeared at renowned venues including Hermann’s Jazz Club in Victoria, the Yardbird Suite in Edmonton, and Upstairs Jazz in Montreal, as well as major jazz festivals throughout Ontario. Her recordings have earned wide recognition, including iTunes’ Best New Jazz Artist of the Year, and she has released five albums on her label Summer Bloom Records.

For this special Canada Day celebration, Shannon joins forces with Joyride, a dynamic ensemble led by Colin Maier, known for its energetic blend of jazz, pop, and crossover influences. Together they create a performance full of vibrant rhythms, soulful melodies, and joyful musical surprises.

Set beneath the beautiful Music Niagara Festival Tent at Ironwood Cider House, the evening begins at 5:00 PM with food options available for purchase, along with wine and Ironwood’s signature cider, creating the perfect summer atmosphere before the concert begins at 7:00 PM.
