Description
Women have always been as passionate and knowledgeable as men regarding all things automotive, though their stories are sometimes not as publicized despite their incredible achievements. Listen in as three of the most successful individuals in their field, regardless of gender, detail their incredible lives behind the wheel as 1992 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year Lyn St. James and monster truck driver (and first woman to land a backflip in a Monster Jam truck) Nicole Johnson come together in this can’t-miss discussion.
Nicole is the host/producer of Nicole Johnson’s Detour on YouTube, first female to land the backflip in a Monster Jam truck, first female King of the Hammers finisher, and two-time women’s national rock crawling champion.
Named one of the "Top 100 Female Athletes of the 20th Century" by “Sports Illustrated.” Lyn set 21 national and international speed records. As a seven-time competitor in the world’s largest sporting event — the Indianapolis 500 — Lyn earned Rookie of the Year honors in 1992 and competed in 15 IndyCar races. She has raced all over the world, including twice at the 24 Hours of LeMans (1989, 91) with victories in the IMSA Series at Watkins Glen, Road America, Daytona, and Sebring. Lyn has received the prestigious “Spirit of Ford” award, the "Guiding Woman in Sports Award,” the "Office Depot Visionary Sportswoman of the Year", was named on Automotive News list of the Top 100 Women in the Automotive Industry and inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame in 2022. Lyn often speaks on women’s issues, gender and diversity. She represents North America on the FIA Women in Motorsports Commission and co-founded Women in Motorsports North America. Lyn is passionate about mentoring young people and women in the racing and automotive worlds.
