Description
Featuring Donald Osborne, Mario Laguna, and Brian Oliver.
In the early 1950s Pegaso brought racing-derived engineering, avant-garde coachwork, and national symbolism to create arguably the era’s most exotic and technically sophisticated grand touring cars, when Ferrari was only just beginning to find its way. What was for a moment the world’s fastest production car was created by a truck manufacturer and a team of young engineers led by a brilliant, accomplished, if quirky, CEO, tasked with demonstrating that a war‑scarred Spain could produce cutting‑edge high performance machinery.
Donald Osborne guides a look into this fascinating and little-known marque and the man behind it with Mario Laguna, the world authority on the marque as well as its most unstinting champion and international concours-winning restorer, Brian Oliver whose firm, Automotive Restorations Inc, has restored more of these rare cars than any other. If you think you know all about the sports car scene of the post-war period, you’ll be very surprised indeed.
