Description

The “Outlaws” from Emory Motorsports have long been world-renowned for taking what vintage Porsches did so well, and then turning it up a few levels to create a modern-day marvel. Don’t miss this opportunity to sit in on a fascinating discussion between Rod Emory, owner of Emory Motorsports; his father Gary Emory, credited with starting the Outlaw Porsche movement; and two world-famous entertainers and proud Emory Outlaw owners John Oates (of Hall & Oates fame) as they discuss what inspires these incredible vehicles, the unbelievable story of how creating these unique and jaw-dropping vintage Porsche mods evolved over the years, and what makes them so appealing to the discerning auto enthusiast.

Gary Emory

Gary Emory, founder of Porsche Parts Obsolete and son of legendary custom car builder, Neil Emory (Valley Custom Shop). Gary has been in the Porsche parts and restoration business for over 60 years. Creator of the original Baja Bug. Gary is credited with starting the outlaw Porsche movement.

John Oates

John Oates, co-creator of the iconic pop group Hall & Oates is a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the American Songwriters Hall of Fame. A musician since early childhood, John has an active solo recording and touring career as well as a passion for vintage cars and motor racing.

Rod Emory

Owner at Emory Motorsports. Customizing vintage Porsche 356s has been my life’s work. I started Emory Motorsports in 1996 with a few simple goals: to preserve as much of a car’s original DNA, metal and essential character while customizing the most iconic and tasteful Porsche 356s on the planet. Over the years I have restored and improved more than 200 356s and the occasional 911. Some people have called these cars ‘Outlaws,’ as this race-inspired class of cars have come to be known. I have also restored and cared for several significant Werks cars including a 904-6, a 906, two 908s, a Pooper and Porsche’s first works Le Mans entry and class winner, a Gmund SL from 1949.
