Description
We all end up buying a few too many seed packets and end up; carrying them over until they are not viable anymore. Starting your garden from seed is incredibly rewarding. Not only does it save you money, but there’s something truly special about watching your vegetables grow from germination to harvest, knowing you nurtured them every step of the way. So lets share our seeds this year!
This is a relaxed, 2-hour workshop with a flexible drop-in time between 4–7 PM, so you can arrive when it works best for you. Get the kids settled, take a breath, and ease into the experience—because gardening should feel calm, not rushed.
Get a head start on your garden with this hands-on seed starting workshop! Learn how to create biodegradable planting pots using simple newspaper—a quick, eco-friendly way to reuse your recycling. You’ll fold, fill, and sow a variety of seeds, all set up in a convenient watering tray to keep them thriving.
you will know what to plant and where: in your germination box, you’ll sow two types of tomatoes, along with peppers and kale. Using the snail planting method, you’ll grow peas—perfect for strong root development. In your handmade newspaper cups, you’ll plant cucumbers and zucchini, giving them a great start before transplanting.
We’ll guide you through three effective growing methods: traditional seed pots, a clever self-watering system, and the snail seeding method—perfect for plants that need strong, deep root development. You’ll also plant in a germination box to see how seeds sprout in a controlled environment.
Each participant will take home all three setups to continue growing. With our short season, starting early makes all the difference—join us and be ready to plant your garden by June
All materials will be provided, but if you have some extra seeds to share, please bring them along—variety is the spice of life. We’ll have plenty of nibblies and snacks, plus a selection of curated cocktails and local beers to enjoy. Snack boards can be purchased with your tickets, and cocktails will be available all night.
