YES THEATRE & SUDBURY THEATRE CENTRE

A SEASON PASS gives you access to all 4 extraordinary  productions in our 2022 season! SAVINGS OF 20%!

THE WIZARD OF OZ July 14 - 17

The classic show in all its musical glory, YES Theatre’s Orchestra production of The Wizard of Oz celebrates all the soaring glory of the rarely heard full score. With an astounding 20 piece orchestra and over 20 actors, this concert is not to be missed.
Kicking off our first season back, this heartwarming show brings you all the movie magic memories and the nostalgia for the girl in the ruby red slippers. As Dorothy takes us on the adventure of a lifetime with her friends, Scarecrow, Tinman and Lion, she discovers the true meaning of friendship, bravery, brains and heart. Fly over the rainbow with her as she reminds us all that there is no place like home!

RIDE THE CYCLONE JULY 29 - AUGUST 14

Fans of Rocky Horror and Little Shop of Horrors rejoice! In this hilarious and outlandish story, the lives of six teenagers from a Saskatchewan chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster. When they awake, a fortune teller invites each to tell a story to win a prize like no other - the chance to return to life. Ride the Cyclone will ignite your heart and force you to think about all the beautiful things in life!

A celebrated original Canadian Musical that took the country by storm in 2010 before moving on to a successful run in Chicago and Off-Broadway!

INTO THE WOODS SEPTEMBER 15 - OCTOBER 9

Re-imagining Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s iconic masterpiece Into the Woods as an urgent interrogation of the necessity of storytelling in the face of the Climate Emergency.

A world grappling with environmental collapse turns to classic children’s fairy tales as a way to make sense of its own story. Witness a world driven by the unexamined pursuit of self-interest, as individual wish fulfillment stifles any possibility of collective action. Ultimately, that bill comes due – as consequences of Giant proportions tear “Happily Ever After” asunder. Those left standing must rise above the temptation of crying “Your Fault” before the Last Midnight comes, and instead work together to fight for what it is that they want to pass on to the next generation.

ELF THE MUSICAL NOVEMBER 25 - DECEMBER 18

One of the most beloved Holiday stories of the 21st century. Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh realities that his father is on the naughty list and his half-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern-day holiday classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner elf. After all, the best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear.

Not only will you walk away believing in Santa Clause, you’ll also have a renewed faith in the power of theatre.
