Saudan Couloir - Ski Race Extreme Presented By Helly Hansen

What better way to finish off the winter season then with the 21st edition of the Saudan Couloir Ski Race Extreme presented by Helly Hansen.

The extreme race of legend and lore, it will bring out legends of ski and snowboard racing, big mountain pros, and a healthy dose of amateur skiers and snowboarders who aren’t afraid to charge.

With over 2500 Vertical Feet of Thigh Burning Hell! Quite possibly the steepest ski race in the world, this is a true test of fitness, skill, balance and courage!

Event Schedule

Thursday April 10th: Check in and Bib pick-up - Helly Hansen Store | The Westin Resort and Spa
6:00pm - 8:00pm: Collect race package, bib and poster. 

Athlete Check-in and Snowcial HourJoin us for the Couloir Extreme Athlete Check-in and “Snowcial Hour” — where the stoke is high, the snacks are plenty, and prizes are up for grabs! Meet, mingle, and fuel up with food and drinks before the Friday morning fun begins down the Saudan Couloir, often affectionately referred to as 2500 vertical feet of thigh-burning hell.


April 11th: Race Day
8:00am - 8:30am: Late Check-in, Blackcomb Day Lodge
9:30am - 10:15am: Partial Course Inspection (Bibs Mandatory) Saudan Couloir - Accessible from 7th Heaven Chair.
10:35am: Course Sweep. Athletes start to clear course.
10:45am: Forerunners Start - All competitors must be off the course.
11:00am: Race Start Time. Racers will run in bib number order. Start interval is 1 min.
3:00pm - 5:00pm Awards & Après at Garibaldi Lift Co. (GLC) - Base of Whistler Mountain

Amateur Categories will feature over $4000 in podium swag and draw prizing thanks to Helly Hansen. 

 

Race running order will be as follows: Oldest to Youngest in each category - Pro Ski, Amateur Ski, Pro Snowboard, Amateur Snowboard.
