Americana artist Conor Cassidy and country-pop songstress Megan Dawson hit the legendary King Eddy stage on November 7.
About Conor Cassidy:
A complementary balance of anthemic road-ready rock and tender acoustic storytelling, British born singer-songwriter Conor Cassidy offers a refreshing take on classic americana. Raised in a musical household idolizing Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen, these heartland roots shine through in his genre defying sound.
With meticulously crafted character driven songs and an electrifying stage presence, it’s no surprise Cassidy has rubbed shoulders with some of the best. Throughout the years he has toured and written with Grammy Award winning songwriter and producer Simon Climie, Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols, Jade Bird, Max Rafferty of The Kooks and Paul Young. He has played to sold out crowds at iconic venues including The Troubadour in London, the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, Third and Lindsley in Nashville, and the Drake Underground in Toronto.
After following his parents on a transatlantic move to Saskatoon, Canada, Cassidy began recording his songs at OCL Studios in Alberta, working alongside engineer Josh Rob Gwilliam and drummer Andrew Hemmerling.
More recently, Cassidy released his debut album Tempest which features the single "Violent Storm." He is currently touring across Canada.
About Megan Dawson:
Megan Dawson is a Calgary-based award winning country-pop artist who has spent over a decade honing her craft on stage, in the studio, and behind the scenes. She’s played 200+ shows across Canada, building a career rooted in connection and consistency.
With over 2.5 million Spotify streams and multiple Sirius XM charting singles, including a #1, Megan has collaborated widely as both an artist and songwriter. Known for her grounded presence and strong work ethic, her upcoming EP represents her most personal and polished work yet, a bold step built on years of heart, hustle, and real experience.
Megan Dawson’s upcoming EP, My Idea of a Good Time, is the result of over a decade in the Alberta country music scene, combining proven success with bold new energy. With national radio airplay, multiple SiriusXM Top of the Country hits (#1 with “To Fall in Love” and #3 with “Second Wind”), and over 3M+ Spotify streams, Megan has built undeniable momentum heading into her first full EP.

Newfoundland folk singer Matthew Byrne hits the legendary King Eddy stage with special guests on November 5.
About Matthew Byrne:
Since releasing his debut album Ballads in 2010, Matthew Byrne has established himself as one of Canada’s foremost traditional singers. His rich and powerful vocals, refined guitar style, and compelling interpretations of unique traditional songs have made him a favourite of folk audiences at home in Newfoundland and abroad. After a long hiatus from the studio and the road, Byrne releases his 4th studio album, Stealing Time. This project brought Byrne to Yellow Arch Studios in Sheffield, UK, where he teamed up with folk legend Martin Simpson as producer. The album features instrumentation from some of the finest musicians on the English folk scene, including Nancy Kerr, Andy Cutting, and Liz Hanks.
Storytelling through song is a fundamental duty of traditional music, and Matthew does this brilliantly. With parents who were singers and song collectors, he was brought up with a strong family focus on sharing songs and has cultivated a distinctive repertoire and deep appreciation for rediscovering and reinventing traditional material.
“I’m not a folklorist or ethnomusicologist, at least not officially. And I’m not a purist. I’ve pored over the nuances of the pub standards as much as the obscure murder balladry. What attracts me to a traditional song is the right combination of melody and language, which have always fascinated me.”
But Byrne is also a student of history, whose love of traditional music extends far beyond the words and music. For him, songs are a way of understanding people before him — their lives, work, language, and worldview.
“I see songs as sources of the past—windows into my family history. Traditional music has always been my most important tool for understanding where I come from and who I am. My live performance is meant to take audiences on a journey through the lineage of my repertoire and share what these songs have revealed to me.”
