Lewis & Royal are a comedy folk duo from Alberta whose infectious blend of humour, harmony, and roots music have been winning audiences across the prairies for decades. They first played together in the bluegrass group The Rosebud Rivervalley Boys, where their creative spark led to the smash-hit stage musical CHICKENS for Rosebud Theatre, that has gone on to be produced across Canada, USA and Australia. Building on that success, they branched out with their debut album Ampersand and soon began touring widely, bringing their distinctive sound to towns and cities across Western Canada.
What sets Lewis & Royal apart is their onstage chemistry: an easy banter, quick wit and playful energy that make every performance feel unique. Audiences never quite know what to expect - except that they'll laugh, sing along, and leave feeling uplifted. Their live album, Lock Up Your Gopher, captures that trademark spontaneity and humour.
From intimate concerts in prairie churches and community halls to folk festivals and even the Calgary Saddledome, Lewis & Royal continue to captivate with performances that balance heartfelt storytelling, rich harmonies, plus a generous dose of comedic flair.

Introducing the Fourth Concert of the Series: Scott Cook & Pamela Mae! Friday, February 12th, 2027 at 7:30 pm. Doors Open at 7pm!
In 2007, Albertan songwriter Scott Cook quit his job teaching kindergarten in Taiwan and moved into a minivan. He’s made his living as a troubadour ever since, touring almost incessantly across Canada, the US, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere, averaging a hundred shows and a dozen summer festivals a year, and releasing eight albums of plainspoken, keenly observant verse along the way. His 2020 collection Tangle of Souls spent two weeks at #1 on Alberta's province-wide community radio network CKUA, and earned Scott his third Canadian Folk Music Award nomination, for English Songwriter of the Year. Its second single "Say Can You See" was the second most-played song of 2020 on Folk Alliance International's folk radio charts, and took top honours for the folk category in both the 2020 UK Songwriting Competition and the 2020 Great American Song Contest. Since early 2022 he's been touring steadily with his sweetheart Pamela Mae on upright bass and vocals, crisscrossing 45 States and 8 Canadian provinces as well as a lot of Australia, New Zealand and Western Europe. In 2026 they're releasing Scott's eighth album Troubadourly Yours packaged in a 264-page hardcover book of road stories and ruminations, and its first single "There Is a River" has already won the grand prize in the Great American Song Contest. For their Grande Prairie show, they're bringing Edmonton-based multi-instrumentalist Elliot Thomas on banjo, fiddle and Weissenborn guitar. Fresh from the open road, these are sturdy, straight-talking songs that see the good in you.

Introducing the Second Concert of the Series: Sultans of String! Wednesday, November 25th, 2026 at 7:30 pm. Doors Open at 7pm! 
Thrilling audiences with their genre-hopping passport of Celtic reels, flamenco, Gypsy-jazz, Arabic, Cuban, and South Asian rhythms, fiery violin dances with kinetic guitar, while bass and percussion lay down unstoppable grooves. Since forming 10 years ago, Sultans of String have hit #1 across Canada on Top 10 national radio charts, and received multiple awards and accolades, including 3 JUNO (Canada's Grammy) nominations, 1st place in the ISC (15,000 entries), 3 Canadian Folk Music Awards, plus invitations to perform/record with such luminaries as The Chieftains, David Bromberg, Alex Cuba, Ruben Blades, Richard Bona, and Nikki Yanofsky.
The group celebrates musical fusion and human creativity with warmth and virtuosity, with world rhythms that excite audiences to their feet!

Valdy is a beloved Canadian folk legend whose warm voice, catchy melodies, and heartfelt storytelling have earned him a place in the hearts of audiences for over five decades. With roots in the West Cost and soul grounded in sincerity, Valdy's music captures the spirit of Canada: honest, reflective, and full of charm.  
Best known for songs like "Play Me a Rock and Roll Song" and "Peter and Lou", Valdy has released more than a dozen albums, won multiple Juno Awards, and performed thousands of concerts across the country and beyond. Whether he is singing about life's simple joys or the changing world around us, his songs resonate deeply with fans of all ages.
Valdy's live shows are a masterclass in connection, filled with humour, nostalgia, and sing-along moments that bring people together. Accompanied by his guitar and unmistakable grin, he continues to tour tirelessly, sharing his music and stories with a warmth that only grows with time.
From festivals to concert halls, Valdy remains a national treasure and an enduring voice in the Canadian folk tradition.

Introducing the Third of the Series: Showman & Coole! Thursday, January 14th, 2027 at 7:30 pm. Doors Open at 7pm!
Through twenty years and a couple of thousand shows together in bands such as The Foggy Hogtown Boys and The Lonesome Ace Stringband, John Showman and Chris Coole have developed a deep and instinctual musical bond. Their music lurks in a truly unique space that is somewhere on the outskirts of old-time, bluegrass, and folk. The songs of John Hartford, Hank Williams, Dock Boggs, and The Band share space with the fiddle tunes of Eck Robertson and Ed Haley. The duo’s original songs and tunes take in all these vistas and paint something both personal and timely. In addition to the five Lonesome Ace albums, John and Chris have released two duo albums - Afield, a collection of old-time fiddle tunes and Much Further Out than Inevitable - A Tribute to the music of John Hartford.

Introducing the Sixth and Final Concert of the Series: Maggie's Wake! Thursday, April 15th, 2027 at 7:30 pm. Doors Open at 7pm!
Maggie's Wake is a refreshing and exciting band from Southwestern Ontario, Canada. "We are creating new music that expands on our influences and our sound is a blend of traditional folk and contemporary styles, including jazz, Americana and classic country. Our band members are passionate about bringing the rich history of folk music to life in a contemporary way and we strive to create a unique sound that reflects our heritage while also being wholly original. Our goal is to bring joy and inspiration to our audiences through our music."
The band features the stellar duo of award winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tara Dunphy (The Rizdales, Luther Wright and the Wrongs) on lead vocals, harmonizing tin whistle, flute and fiddle and award winning and internationally recognized Lindsay Schindler (Rant Maggie Rant, Trent Severn) as lead instrumentalist on fiddle/violin and harmony vocals. Their powerhouse band includes Andrew Kosty on upright and electric bass, Ken Palmer on acoustic and electric guitar, and frequent guests Dean Harrison on piano and accordion and Steven Szczesniak on percussion.
They have been playing sold out theatres and concert halls for the past 18 months, building much anticipation for their debut album, the self titled "Maggie's Wake", which was released on March 17th, 2024 worldwide to critical acclaim. Maggie's Wake performed as an Official Showcase Artist at the 2024 Folk Alliance conference in Kansas City, MO. They are thrilled to be an Official Showcase Artist at North Eastern Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) in Portland, Maine in November 2024 and they have been nominated as Best New/Emerging Artist for the Canadian Folk Music Awards.

It’s a dark and stormy night, and our cast of oddball characters has been invited to a very unusual dinner party. Each of the guests has an alias, the butler offers a variety of weapons, and the host is, well, dead. So whodunit? Join the iconic oddballs known as Scarlet, Plum, White, Green, Peacock and Mustard as they race to find the murderer in Boddy Manor before the body count stacks up. Based on the cult classic film and the popular board game, Clue is a madcap comedy that will keep you guessing until the final twist.

GPLT Proudly presents Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller

Arthur Miller's play Death of a Salesman addresses loss of identity and a man's inability to accept change within himself and society. The play is a montage of memories, dreams, confrontations, and arguments, all of which make up the last 24 hours of Willy Loman's life. The play concludes with Willy's suicide and subsequent funeral.
Miller uses the Loman family — Willy, Linda, Biff, and Happy — to construct a self-perpetuating cycle of denial, contradiction, and order versus disorder. Willy had an affair over 15 years earlier than the real time within the play, and Miller focuses on the affair and its aftermath to reveal how individuals can be defined by a single event and their subsequent attempts to disguise or eradicate the event. For example, prior to discovering the affair, Willy's son Biff adored Willy, believed all Willy's stories, and even subscribed to Willy's philosophy that anything is possible as long as a person is "well-liked." The realization that Willy is unfaithful to Linda forces Biff to reevaluate Willy and Willy's perception of the world. Biff realizes that Willy has created a false image of himself for his family, society, and even for himself.

The Next Big Sing is hitting the stage 80’s style! Take a step back into the 80’s for a radical evening of big hair, neon colours, and most importantly- 80’s music.
The crowd becomes the choir as our team of trained vocalists, live band, and videographers lead the crowd in a tubular night of singing epic 80’s songs that span the generations and bring you back to a time of carefree fun and individuality.
Begin the night with our happy hour party complete with drinks, 80’s music by our very own live band, and a costume competition. That’s right, it’s time to dust off those sweatbands, crimp that hair, and don that neon windbreaker for your chance to win some great prizes!
Be ready for a totally bodacious night as we party to the max, bringing our community together through song- 80’s style!
