About Rosina Cove

Rosina Cove, the new creative outlet for songwriter Peter Stone from the Western Canadian Music Award winning and Canadian Folk Music Award nominated group 100 Mile House, is a band created for hedonistic hideout through an unpretentious Canadiana heart.

"I wanted to write songs in 20 minutes and not think about them much," says Stone, who traditionally spends days perfecting the words or phrases in his lyrics. But for Rosina Cove, named after his Great-Granmother – Rosina – who died by suicide, Stone sought to escape his own pressure of perfection by surrounding himself with musical friends.

There's a core trio, made up of Peter Stone, Drew Malcolm, and Vicky Berg, but Rosina Cove's other members are rarely the same from show to show – even on their debut 8-track album, Someday We Will Make It There, ten players – nay friends – join Stone to escape 2023 – and whoever is onboard for a show, the recording, or even a jam, they're in for a no-judgements, fun-fuelled time.

Beneath the smiles are the stories that permeate from a separation. Emotions are unlocked through the spontaneous writing style, and just as with Stone's other songs, these are earnestly honest, perhaps even revealing more of where his heart has been tugged in opposition to his brain, than he realizes.

This rallying of friends is infectious, with Rosina Cove spreading out across the prairies to play festivals like the Pigeon Lake Music Festival, this year's JUNOFest celebrations, Winterruption, WayneStock and Country Music Week's Off Country event.

For a project that started as a way to escape, Stone admits it's morphed into something a little more. For the next batch of songs – yes, there are more coming - Stone cheekily hints, that he maybe spent more than 20 minutes on them. Perhaps his perfectionism is coming back. But, heck, this is damn near a perfect debut album, made all the stronger by having such exemplary friends, who are there to play music for the sake of playing music. Whether they talk about the realities of life or not, one thing is certain: they're all there to make an unpretentious Canadiana racket.

About T. Buckley

Award-winning songwriter T. Buckley stands quietly among a disappearing ilk of true craftsmen. Shadowed by his Western roots, his soul and voice are unmistakably genuine, and the result is a class of songsmith long revered and scarcely achieved.

With influences stemming from the '60s Laurel Canyon and New York Cafe scenes, he tells stories embedded with detail, empathy and heart. Buckley's dedication to his art has seen him on renowned showcase and festival stages throughout North America.
