About Robinson Khoury: MŸA

Robinson Khoury - Trombone, Vocals

Léo Jassef - Piano, Keyboards, Vocals

Anissa Nehari - Percussion, Vocals

Robinson Khoury is a trombonist and composer and a rising star on the French jazz scene. With his band MŸA, the trombonist - in a musical search for the organic origins of life - explores ancestral rhythms and sounds through electro-acoustic landscapes shaped by his modular synth. Rooted in jazz and Middle-Eastern scales, MŸA revolves around the wordless vocals of the band members.

Spotted a few years ago alongside Ibrahim Maalouf and Natacha Atlas, Robinson contributed to the success of the Arabic rock group SARAB and received a special mention from the Académie Charles Cros for his recent album Broken Lines. He has been also soloist in the Metropole Orkest and already played with renown artists such as Lew Soloff, Mark Turner, and the Quincy Jones Orchestra.

In March 2025, Robinson Khoury received the most prestigious jazz award in France: Prize Django Reinhardt, Best Jazz Musician of the Year.

The trombonist was also nominated for the 2025 Victoires du Jazz Awards in the category 'Best Concert of the Year '.

This performance is a part of MŸA's first Canadian tour, and is Robin Khoury's first appearance at the Winnipeg International Jazz Festival.
