Ricecake: Splash!

Last year, our Pride party was hot and heavy, so this year, we’re going to get wet and wild with Ricecake: Splash! a day-time Pride party at the Birdhouse on Sunday, August 6th - happening right after the Vancouver Pride Parade!

To make a splash, we're bringing in a wading pool, bubbles, misters, water guns, and floaties that you can use to keep ultra cool, while you lounge in your tankinis/bikinis/speedos and boogie with other beautiful queers at our parking lot pool party.

The bar will be serving drinks to keep you hydrated, and we've even booked some food vendors to keep you fed! DJ's will be fuelling the ambience all day, and we'll be putting on a drag show later in the evening, serving you all the entertainment and fun in the sun you need!

Come party with us after the Parade from 3pm-9pm! We’re just minutes away from the new festival site so walk your cute butts over, and splash around with us!

ABOUT RICECAKE

• Created for and by queer Asians, Ricecake is a safe and celebratory 19+ space for LGBTQ2+ BIPOC and their allies. Ricecake takes place on unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil’waututh nations, and as immigrant settlers, we respectfully thank these Indigenous nations for hosting us on their land.

 

ACCESSIBILITY INFO

• Sound sensitivity note: there will be loud music at this event. Foam ear plugs can be requested from venue staff if needed.
• Light sensitivity note: flashing and moving lights at this event. 
• Entrance is ground level, through double doors with 61" wide clearance.
• Washrooms are all genders. Accessible washroom is currently under construction, but will be built to ADA Standards.
• Seating available. Please feel free to ask security or door staff if you ever require a seat and would like assistance in finding a seat.

BUDDY SYSTEM ON SITE

• The Buddy System is a community program that provides harm reduction, bystander intervention, security team support, and overall safer vibes for party goers. We will have Buddies on site, dressed in neon, available to support anyone who needs it.
