Meet our Speaker!
In a world where audiences are hungry for authentic narratives, look no further than Tanya Ryan. Charming and often disarming, Tanya’s music speaks to our inner romantic with love songs like I Want You and yet still finds the voice for bold empowerment with Red Lipsticks and Cigars. Tanya has been playing music, writing and performing professionally since 2012; since then she’s played on numerous stages including the Coke Stage at the Calgary Stampede, and Big Valley Jamboree Main-Stage. Tanya is an ambassador for The Rowan House Emergency Shelter and an enthusiastic hiker. And more recently she’s been pursuing writing - blogs, biographies, and is also a columnist for the Okotoks Western Wheel.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?" ~ Marianne Williamson
Meet our Facilitator!
http://www.russellthomas.ca/Art.html
– he is a full-time artist now based at Birdsong Studio and Healing Centre in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada. He spent several decades in marketing, communication and administration leadership roles with a number of organizations. His artistic awakening happened in 2014 at the age of 47. By the age of 50, he became a full-time working artist. As part of his creative pursuits, he began to discover that his developing skills and growing audience gave him a great platform for philanthropy. He has performed live paintings at numerous major events throughout Alberta, which along with high profile donated paintings, have helped raise funds for multiple charities and causes. Russell is a board director for a charity called Bracelets 4 Buildings, which builds safe and sustainable housing for the poorest of the poor in rural Cambodia and Thailand.
