Description

As promised, we're BACK with a new and improved collaboration event just for you..and yes! It's FREE!

Welcome to the Foothills Arts Collaboration 2.0 (F.A.C.E) – our second collaboration with local talent, presents Tanya Ryan’s "Art as a Business". Featuring Okotoks’ talented artist Russell Thomas as facilitator for the evening.

**Reserve your seat now before they're all snatched up!

**Complimentary snacks and cash beverages will be available.

When: 2019 November 21 7:00-9:00 PM (registration starts at 6:30)

Where: ROMA – 27 McRae St., Okotoks

We begin the evening with, Tanya Ryan’s "Art as a Business" talk:

  • *Artist as Creator
  • *Art as a Product for wholesale or retail
  • *Monetizing the Product
  • *Types of Mentorship - depending on needs
  • * Discussion about self-promotion, social media and marketing.
And if time allows, discussion on ways to simply begin to create a relationship with the boring (and sometimes intimidating) aspects of running a business (bookkeeping etc).
  • And of course, what challenges might artists face from an emotional/mental standpoint regarding their self-value (this is a big one that gets in the way of drawing a proper income)

**Bring your creative imaginations and great ideas as Russell Thomas leads us towards building our wants and needs for the ARTS in the foothills’ region.

And then together we will wrap-up the evening with an engaging social!!!

We the Okotoks Arts Council, believe that collaboration can dramatically grow the ARTS in the Foothills area, benefiting creative communities, cultural entrepreneurs, business sectors and visitors to our beautiful area! While art can be an individual experience, we are indeed, stronger together.

Meet our Speaker!

  www.tanyaryan.ca

In a world where audiences are hungry for authentic narratives, look no further than Tanya Ryan. Charming and often disarming, Tanya’s music speaks to our inner romantic with love songs like I Want You and yet still finds the voice for bold empowerment with Red Lipsticks and Cigars. Tanya has been playing music, writing and performing professionally since 2012; since then she’s played on numerous stages including the Coke Stage at the Calgary Stampede, and Big Valley Jamboree Main-Stage. Tanya is an ambassador for The Rowan House Emergency Shelter and an enthusiastic hiker. And more recently she’s been pursuing writing - blogs, biographies, and is also a columnist for the Okotoks Western Wheel.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?" ~ Marianne Williamson

Meet our Facilitator!

  http://www.russellthomas.ca/Art.html

– he is a full-time artist now based at Birdsong Studio and Healing Centre in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada. He spent several decades in marketing, communication and administration leadership roles with a number of organizations. His artistic awakening happened in 2014 at the age of 47. By the age of 50, he became a full-time working artist. As part of his creative pursuits, he began to discover that his developing skills and growing audience gave him a great platform for philanthropy. He has performed live paintings at numerous major events throughout Alberta, which along with high profile donated paintings, have helped raise funds for multiple charities and causes. Russell is a board director for a charity called Bracelets 4 Buildings, which builds safe and sustainable housing for the poorest of the poor in rural Cambodia and Thailand.
