Description

Sail Nova Scotia, together with the Province of Nova Scotia and Halifax Regional Municipality, is looking forward to hosting teams from around the globe for the Rockwool Canada Sail Grand Prix to take place on June 1 - 2 on Halifax Harbour.

Sail Nova Scotia had the vision to bring this "adrenaline fueled racing" to Halifax, putting the city on the world stage, alongside some of the most iconic cities in the world. The Rockwool Canada Sail Grand Prix will be broadcast in over 200 countries and thousands of spectators are expected to line the Halifax waterfront for the most exciting racing on water.

On May 23, Sail Nova Scotia is hosting Red Sky at Night, at Pavilion 23 to kick off the arrival of SailGP in Halifax. It is our sincere hope that you will be part of this amazing fundraiser and will support Sail Nova Scotia in its efforts to raise funds to support existing and new programs which include:

  • Our Mobile Sailing School which travels the province introducing sailing to more than 100 youth in communities where no youth sailing program currently exist.
  • The Foil4All and WeCANFoil programs which will introduce foiling to Nova Scotia youth and coaches from May 25-28. On the schedule are demos, a coaching clinic, and performance foiling organized by WeCANFoil.
  • Nova Scotia sailing and boating programs focused on equity deserving members of our community such as programs for new Canadians, Women’s sailing programs, and programs at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.
  • Nova Scotia Sailing Team and the new National Training Centre Atlantic in St. Margaret's Bay

The Rockwool Canada Sail Grand Prix will not only bring exciting, and inspiring international sailing to Nova Scotia, but it will also leave behind a legacy for our sailing and boating community for generations to come. It is an opportunity for Nova Scotia to take the center stage in sailing, both nationally and internationally.

This event will feature a sit-down dinner and lively entertainment right after.
