Description
Join us for the second Annual World AIDS Day Red Ribbon Ride! We will be hopping on our bikes and heading on a group ride from Revolution Cycle following the city bike paths to the Alberta Legislature where we will take a moment to reflect on why we are riding- those we have lost and those still vulnerable to HIV. We will be able to see the sites that are RED in honour of World AIDS Day-
Then we will continue on to the Hotel Fairmont Macdonald where we will warm up with a hot chocolate, coffee or tea all in the beauty of the garden patio - After we share in the warmth of the Hotel Mac, we will once again hop on our bikes and tour up Jasper Avenue and the new bike lanes in order to bring awareness to the city as we ride to Original Joes, to have a bit of red wine and patio heaters. we then head en masse back to Revolution!
Upon return to Revo there will be a fabulous Red Light Street Party where there will be beverages - both hot and cold (coffee, cream liquour in a Starbucks coffee or beer) food, music, and the warmth of friends and riders sharing stories! This year we will have red and white wine, Situation Brewing on tap and the best chili in town from Upper Crust!
Your ticket makes you a member of the Red Ribbon Ride which allows you entry into the Red Light Street Party.
When you register you will be invited to share the event on social media for a $3 discount! You can also purchase your non-refundable drink vouchers before check out to avoid having to purchase tickets at the party!
Purchase amazing, water proof, multicolour (but will be red for our ride ;) ready to go LED bicycle lights to use not just at the ride but all winter long- they are truly a great addition! We will have some unique, fully compostable, reuseable cans for sale as well!
This is a "Bring your own Bike" event but for those wanting to try out a fat bike, or you just don't have wheels but want to ride- you can rent one for $20 for the ride! (Limited number of bikes available)
All proceeds from the Red Ribbon Ride go to HIV Edmonton and will support innovative prevention education, support and outreach and advocacy for those living with HIV. HIV Edmonton's vision is Zero: Zero new HIV infections, Zero stigma and discrimination and Zero AIDS related deaths.
