Sonic Trail Walk with Indigenous Elder/Knowledge Keeper: 3:30 – 5:00 pm
Immerse yourself in the rich heritage of the Niagara region this fall with Reawakening: Sounds from the Forest. On this unique 90-minute tour experience, guests are invited to celebrate the Harvest and honor All Our Relations as we walk into Niagara's treasured Carolinian Forest at Ball’s Falls Conservation Area.
Beginning at the serene entrance of the Forest Frolic Trail, your journey starts with a traditional welcome circle, setting the tone for an enriching experience. Guided by Elders and knowledge keepers, you'll embark on a curated Indigenous sonic tour, weaving together the sounds of the land with interactive teachings along the way. As you walk along ancient trails of the Twenty Mile Creek, you will gain insight into the natural world, the deep history of the lands, and the wisdom passed down through generations. Each step will offer an opportunity to reflect on Indigenous histories, future seven generations, and the legacies that bind us to the Natural World, reminding us of the responsibilities and gifts we share.
Maximum Capacity: 30 participants per tour (space is limited)
Note: Guests must come prepared with smart phone device and headset to enjoy the sonic sounds from the forest on the audio tour.
Rain date: Sunday, November 3, 2024
(A decision will be made and communicated to ticket holders no later than Friday, November 1 at 8:00 pm in the event of anticipated inclement weather on the scheduled event date).
