Tanya Henderson:

Tanya Henderson made history on February 15th, 2022, becoming the first full-time female coach in Canadian Football League history. Ahead of the 2024 season, she has added the title of assistant defensive backs coach after two seasons as the defensive assistant.

Originally from Forestburg, Alberta, Tanya's football journey traces back to 2013 when she entered the scene as a player with the Western Women’s Canadian Football League’s (WWCFL) Edmonton Storm. Her prowess on the field led to opportunities with Team Alberta and ultimately Team Canada, where she played a key role in the national women’s team securing a Silver medal at the IFAF Women’s World Championship in 2017.

Tanya began her coaching career at Edmonton’s St. Francis Xavier High School and had coaching stints with the CJFL Edmonton Huskies, West Edmonton Raiders and the Football Alberta Provincial flag football program. In addition to her coaching accomplishments, Tanya spearheaded the CDMFA’s Girls Tackle Football League, the first girls tackle football league in Alberta.

Outside of football Tanya enjoys spending time at her family farm, exploring the mountains with her dog, running, and visiting every coffee shop under the sun. Her journey from a player in the WWCFL to a groundbreaking CFL coach reflects her dedication to the sport and breaking barriers in football.

Corey Mace:

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Corey Mace as the 48th Head Coach in franchise history on November 30, 2023.

Mace, who hails from Port Moody, B.C., joins the Roughriders after spending the last two seasons as the defensive coordinator of the Toronto Argonauts, winning a Grey Cup with the team in 2022, and helping the team go an incredible 16-2 in the 2023 season. While in Toronto, Mace headed one of the league’s best defences, and it was especially potent last with the Argos leading the league in seven different defensive categories. He also coached five CFL All-Stars over his two seasons in Toronto and the 2023 Most Outstanding Rookie Quan’tez Stiggers.

Prior to his time in Toronto, he spent six seasons as the defensive line coach of the Calgary Stampeders, a position he took immediately after retiring from the team in 2015. Mace played 40 games with the Calgary Stampeders after three years with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills. He was selected by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the second round of the 2007 CFL Draft.

In addition to his 2022 Grey Cup Championship, the 37-year-old won two Grey Cups as a part of the Stampeders, one in 2018 as a coach, and one in 2014 as a player. Exceptionally community minded, Mace was awarded the Stampeders’ Presidents’ Ring in 2015 for exemplary performance on and off the field.

Mace is married to his wife, Petra and they have two children together.

Marc Mueller:

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Marc Mueller as the offensive coordinator on December 6, 2023.

Mueller, who was born and raised in Regina, returns to his home province with a decade of CFL coaching experience after beginning his career with the Calgary Stampeders as a defensive assistant in 2014. Over the next 10 seasons, Mueller served as the running backs coach and quarterbacks coach. He is a two-time Grey Cup Champion, winning with Calgary in 2014 and 2018.

Prior to joining the CFL coaching ranks, Mueller spent one season as the quarterbacks coach with the University of Regina Rams after suiting up for six seasons (2007-12) as a U Sports player. Mueller graduated from the Rams as the owner of several school records, including career completion percentage (62.1) and single-season pass attempts (310 in 2009), completions (182 in 2010) and completion percentage (67.8 in 2012). As well, the former Sheldon-Williams Spartans standout set the Rams’ single-game record for completion percentage (78.4 in 2012 at Saskatchewan). He was invited to the 2011 CFL Combine and attended training camp with Edmonton, playing in one preseason game — at historic Mosaic Stadium.

Mueller is the grandson of legendary Roughrider quarterback Ron Lancaster. Mueller’s father, Larry, was the Roughriders’ Assistant General Manager from 1989 to 1991.
