Raincity (Vancouver) // https://www.facebook.com/thatbandraincity/

Raincity is a Vancouver-based Funk-Rock group making waves with their unique sound. Fronted by female leads on saxophone and vocals, their audacious performances are loaded with engaging interplay and explosive energy. The five members of Raincity combine their eclectic influences including Amy Winehouse and Moon Hooch, creating a distinctive sound with infectious grooves, chameleon tones, and no regard for boundaries. Each musician is equipped with as much personality as style, leading to a dynamic live experience that is unapologetic and empowering.
Raincity first came together as a jazz trio in 2016, known then as ‘Raincity Blue’ before growing to a 5-piece. With the support of Creative BC, they recorded their debut album “Stuck on Replay” at Rain City Recorders in August 2017. They released the album at the Wise Hall in January 2018 to a sold-out audience. Early in 2018 the band progressed to the Top 100 of CBC Searchlight, won the Hard Rock Casino's Rock the Mic competition and the Music Heals Covers for the Cause contest.
Throughout 2018, Raincity performed at a number of festivals including Victoria’s Rifflandia, the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival, and with the help of FACTOR, presented at Canadian Music Week in Toronto. They appeared in articles on the Vancouver 24 Hr, Do250, The Nanaimo News Bulletin, Snipe News, and featured as guests on radio stations such as Pacific Sound Radio, Roundhouse Radio, and CiTR Radio.

Most recently Raincity won The Roxy Launch Project which serendipitously happened the day before they headed into Warehouse Studios to record their upcoming EP, set to release in 2019.

Raene is a singer, songwriter and producer based out of Vancouver, BC. She grew up listening to Imogen Heap, Queen, Electric Light Orchestra, and Ella Fitzgerald. Raene is passionate about creating a sense of belonging through her music. Her synesthesia (perceiving music and sound as colour) allows her to paint her songs with a distinctive musical palette. Raene is currently creating her next EP, playing shows around Vancouver, working in the industry, and is a happily recovering perfectionist.

The Escapes (Vancouver) // https://www.facebook.com/TheEscapes

The Escapes' music- a blend of jazz, soul, funk, and pop- takes inspiration from bands such as Hiatus Kaiyote, Dirty Loops, John Mayer, Vulfpeck, and Stevie Wonder. Coincidentally connected in September of 2015, in their hometown White Rock, the young five-piece band has not stopped writing and performing since. Isobel Ralph, Max and Rhett Cunningham, Keely Rammage-Scott, and Jack Wells all make an exciting and intriguing musical project with a diverse sound.

In January of 2018, the band was signed to a development contract with 604 Records of Vancouver and have been working with producers Louise Burns and Dave Genn of 54-40.

Tissa Rahim (Vancouver) // https://www.facebook.com/iamtissarahim/

Vancouver songstress Tissa Rahim weaves together her effortless talent for the R&B and soul genres with a multi-generational affinity for Persian music as she debuts a rousing solo project after years sharing the stage with the band The Bleeding Horse Express. Tissa is an established west-coast musician with a 40-city North American tour under her belt, and she has worked with producers like 100 Monkeys’ Jack Rathbone (of Twilight Fame). She was one of 24 Magazine’s “Top 24 under 24,” and has performed at House of Blues in New Orleans, the Gramercy Theatre in New York, and the quintessential local jazz and soul club Guilt and Co. In 2017, Tissa released a 5-song EP, "Rosewater", and also appears on Gabe.Sx' 2018 album, "Vancouver Sessions", as a performer, songwriter and producer. With a voice that has the freedom of Florence Welch and the depth of Lauryn Hill, her upcoming singles are sure to capture the attention of the Pacific Northwest yet again.
