Description

Saturday, May 16, 2026 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM (Setup begins at 11:00 AM)

Location: Knox United Church

Hosts: Avalon Divine & James Dean

This grant-funded series at Knox United Church is designed to bridge the gap between amateur passion and professional execution. Whether you are a member of the Fake Mustache cast or a member of the broader community looking to step onto the stage for the first time, these sessions provide a safe, supportive environment to elevate your craft.

Queer Improv & Storytelling

Taught by Queerprov alumni, this workshop is designed to make you a more versatile, bookable entertainer by expanding your skill set beyond the solo number. We will focus on character building to help you develop a consistent stage persona that can react to any situation in real time. You will also master the basics of dynamic hosting, from microphone technique to reading the room and safely engaging with an audience. The session concludes with low-pressure collaborative play, providing an environment to practice skits and group storytelling.

Registration: A $5 deposit is required to secure your spot and will be fully refunded upon attendance. This session is strictly capped at 25 participants to ensure personalized instruction.
