Provincial Christian Prayer Breakfast

Welcome to the First Annual Provincial Christian Prayer Breakfast! This event is being hosted by Michaela Glasgo, MLA for Brooks-Medicine Hat, and Daniel Williams, MLA for Peace River.

The aim of the Provincial Prayer Breakfast is to gather like-minded Christians from the Province of Alberta to gather together in prayer for our leaders and we hope that it will be a time of fellowship as we minister to those who are leading our Province. This event is not put on by a specific party, but by individual members of the government and public that desire to honour God by obeying the command given in 1 Timothy 2:1-2, “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.”

This year’s speaker is Patrick R. Nixon, CM, AOE. In 1984 Pat founded the Mustard Seed Street Ministry in Calgary after having been exposed to alcoholism growing and spending time in prison after being kicked out of his parent’s house at the age of 12. He has won many awards for his service in his community, one of them being The Order of Canada in 2005. In 2015 Pat accepted the position of Executive Director at Oxford House Foundation of Canada where he is currently serving at.
