This powerful documentary follows the landmark Vriend v. Alberta case, in which Delwin Vriend, a quiet, unassuming lab instructor challenged the Alberta government after being fired for being gay. His case reached the Supreme Court of Canada, resulting in a precedent-setting victory that cemented protections for LGBTQ+ rights across the country and is now cited around the world.

Directed by Darrin Hagen and featuring moving first-hand accounts, Pride vs. Prejudice is a reminder of how far we’ve come—and how much is still at stake. This screening is more than history; it’s a call to remain vigilant, inspired, and united in the face of ongoing threats to human rights.
