Description

A group of young adults become tired of their thankless, mundane jobs. Their solution? To quit those jobs and transform their friend group into a band of modern-day pirates. Tensions rise when power struggles, the lack of a boat, and a general lack of knowledge about pirates threaten to sink their new venture. Pride of the Landlubbers is written and directed by recent Grenfell grad Rachel van Vliet.

Special Guest performances by Katy Warren (November 6th) and Shaye Murray (November 7th) to open the show!

Katy Warren is a comedian, host, producer, and arts & crafts enthusiast. As a frequent performer with St. John's Improv, sketch weirdo with Bicycle Jousting Comedy, and co-producer at NewFunny, Katy is on a mission to make comedy in this city a little weirder and a little more welcoming.

Shaye’s comedy playfully blends absurdity and tension to probe the depths of gender, sexuality and relationships. Unavoidably rooted in a rural Newfoundland upbringing, she surveys the cultures and identities that confine, define and intertwine us all. Shaye’s too-cute-by-half humour revels in the complexities and contradictions of old habits and new normals.

Content Advisory: Coarse Language
