🍓 Preservation Masterclass | Hands-On Jam, Jelly & Fruit Preserving Workshop in Hamilton

Discover the timeless art of food preservation in the Preservation Masterclass at Chocolate Tales Studio in Hamilton. This immersive 2-hour hands-on workshop introduces you to traditional preserving techniques, teaching you how to transform fresh seasonal fruit into delicious homemade jams, jellies, compotes, and candied citrus using classic methods that have been passed down through generations.

Designed for food lovers, home cooks, and DIY enthusiasts, this interactive culinary experience combines the science and artistry of preservation in a welcoming, beginner-friendly environment. Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, you'll learn the essential principles behind successful preserving, including pectin activation, sugar ratios, acidity, cooking temperatures, and gel point testing.

Working in small collaborative groups, participants will prepare fresh fruit, monitor cooking temperatures, test for proper consistency, and carefully fill jars while gaining practical skills they can confidently recreate at home. Along the way, you'll discover how different fruits respond to heat and sugar, allowing you to create preserves with exceptional flavor, texture, and shelf stability.

Throughout the workshop, you'll prepare a selection of classic fruit preserves, each highlighting a different preservation technique. The experience concludes with a guided tasting where you'll compare flavors, textures, and techniques before taking home your handmade creations, detailed recipes, and the knowledge to continue preserving at home.
